TIME QUAKE (1997). Time Quake is an entertaining novel, and has far-reaching implications for forging new paths for self, culture, country, world. The audience at CAT's CRADLE on March 8 showed clearly a great love for Vonnegut's works. Hoping to have director Einhorn with us to discuss the adaptation of Cat's Cradle to stage. Marty P.S. Bring friends! Guests are free.

Lovely time in a lovely penthouse setting of exquisite beauty and warm reception by the hostess. We lost track of time--3 hrs whizzed by with no thought of clock. It must have been a reversed TIME QUAKE, a gift of extended inventive imagination, in which we covered even more than the featured book, and came up with a dream to have a big event on his 86th birthday--can't wait to see more of you at another MeetUp get-together! What book do you want to do next?? Answer on Message Board. Marty

    •  i am so sad to have missed it! i was so lost trying to find the place, i am not sure if it was map quest or my scribble handwriting! i brought some treats and just ended up giving them away to a group of punkrock sqatter kids when i biked down through the LES. :(
    •  The venue was gloriously beautiful and serene. We linked TIME QUAKE up with some of the other books and began to take a longer view of his message, his way of approaching the reader in order to make his points, and of his questions on Humans and the Divine. We savored Kilgore Trout's statements and stories. We were moved by the beautiful way my friend's child was treated so warmly at Kurt Vonnegut's home about 15 years ago. We discussed the possibility of a big event next November--we believe a celebration will be a delightful way to show our respect for Vonnegut's contributions. We hope that our membership, and attendance might grow, if indeed people care about having this meetup group. We also prepared to watch the movie of MOTHER NIGHT, maybe for next time.
