Introduction
I was drawn to Kurt Vonnegut's outlook and writing style when I read TIME QUAKE, SLAPSTICK, BKFST OF CHAMP, &recently MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY, CAT'S CRADLE. He evokes laughter, sometimes tears, about the realities & absurdities of life. Martha (Marty)
Which Vonnegut books have you read? How has Vonnegut touched you? Have you ever seen the movie MOTHER NIGHT, starring Nick Nolte? Shall we go to Vonnegut plays together or on our own?

We agreed that even only two people can make a difference by getting together in appreciation of Kurt Vonnegut. I would like to extend a sincere invitation to all you members and your friends to join into the messsage boards so that I can "feel your pulse" and hear your thoughts and impressions on how Vonnegut's or ANY author's books DO make a difference in your life. And "to go with us" to explore someone whose message remains HOT today. And funny too, of course! very funny! it hits the funny bone at the least expected moments!

  •  Glad I joined. Suggestions about my continuing to compose are stimulating me to think of ideas for piano pieces for my piano students to hear or even some easy enough for them to play. Mostly, this meetup is fun for me and the other members, too.

  •  I have a hard time in recent weeks attending meetings due to a hectic schedule. But I hope to go soon.

  •  I am looking forward to the meetups this summer. I've been somewhat busy the past few months, but will have more free time this summer. On the Road, I am halfway through. Have a great memorial weekend.

  •  How about On the Road? Any readers of that book?

  •  Thanks. Any other meetup groups you belong to? What other books can you recommend? What is the best, most helpful, bookstore in Manhatten or Brooklyn?

  •  Marty is really nice. I'm sure this is going to be a great Meetup group.
